Johnny Woodpecker

In 2005 Fraser Moors introduced a teams event to rekindle the interest of those players out of contention for the trophy. When Fraser died the teams’ event took on special meaning and a memorial kauri trophy was made in his honour to be presented to the winning team each year.

2019 – Swans hit Rock Bottom

The once mighty Swans have hit an all-time low to be ranked to worst team ever in the Johnny Woodpecker Donny Surfpecker. Once regarded as the GOAT (now the 2008 Magpies), the Swans have become a laughing stock without their inspiration leader John Weak. With Horsely a slither of the leader Weak was, and with star player Blackwell suffering acute tinea and tinnitus, the Swans finished a distant last in 2018 and it’s hard to see them improving anytime soon.

“I think we’ve outgrown the Woodpecker Danny!”

We are honoured in 2018 by the attendance of Woodsey’s brother(s) Tony and David.

Juan Stoked, otherwise known as The Baron, created history in Denerau, Fiji when he became the first Falcon captain since Fraser Moors to win the teams event.

“The pressure on me was immense! I knew all that was required to win the Kauri for the first time was to tell the lads not to play any golf beforehand and stick to surfing. “

A Gift from The Gods?

Rumours former Magpie captain Simon Schteemin gifted the Falcons the victory with generous pairings of Falcons against lower ranked Magpies on day one have since proved to be false. Several high ranking Magpie players investigated his sudden move to the Swans after confirming the night before the tournament that he was going to go back to the Magpiesbe a Swango back to the Magpiesbe a Swango back to the Magpiesbe a Swan,go back to the Magpies, be a Swan.

Simon was rumoured to have said after the tournament that he hoped Fraser would stop “visiting him in his sleep“.

Horks Return

The Horks showed that 2013 was no fluke as they secured back to back team trophies and look to be a force to reckoned with for many years to come.

The Swans reply to Henrygate in 2009 was emphatic with their second teams win thrashing all beneath them in convincing fashion (until the Magpies checked the scorecards).
